These fast charging batteries reach a full charge in 40 minutes or less. Makita makes over 250 cordless tools that utilize the 18V lithium ion batteries. Since most of these tools are available as “bare tools” you won’t need to buy batteries with each one. For convenience, you can use a single battery kit across a broad range of tools. Makita 18V lithium ion batteries resist discharge so they’re ready for use even after long periods of storage. With the 4 amp hour rating you get 35% more run time per charge than the BL1830.

An integrated LED battery charge level indicator makes it easy to monitor charging progress. The BL1840BDC2 18V lithium ion batteries are compatible only with Star Protection tools. Tools equipped with Star Protection are indicated by the Star Symbol and/or Yellow Battery Receiver under the tool. Star Protection Computer Controls protect against overloading, over-discharging and over-heating. As a result, you get longer tool life and greater reliability.
