The Simpson Strong-Tie HDQ8-SDS3 is a high-capacity holdown designed for demanding structural applications requiring uplift and shear resistance. Ideal for use in wood framing and anchorage to concrete, the HDQ8 provides enhanced performance, minimal deflection, and easy installation with Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws included. Its unique raised seat design minimizes deflection under load and allows for installation above the sill plate without reducing capacity. Engineered with no need for countersinking stud bolts, the HDQ simplifies the framing process around openings and tight areas.
